Adding annotations to images
Making your images speak to your readers
Annotations are a great way to show your users exactly what to do to complete a task.
Types of annotation
Currently HelpBurner supports re-sizable text annotations and number-steps. You can see examples of these below:
Adding an annotation
-
Hover over an image with your mouse to show the edit image toolbar.
-
Click the annotation button (1) and choose the type of annotation to add.
-
Click anywhere in the image to add an annotation at that position.
Changing the annotations text
Click anywhere is the annotation to change it's text. In the text-box annotation you can press SHIFT + Enter to insert a new line.
Chnaging the annotations color
Clicking on an annotation displays the annotations toolbar. In this, click the color button to change annotations color.
Tips
-
Move/drag annotations by clicking on them with the mouse and moving the mouse while the button is still pressed. Let go of the mouse button when you have finished moving the annotation.
-
You can undo any deletion of an annotation by clicking the Undo button in the trash message at the top of the help topic.
-
Use a few annotations (not too many) on an image to clearly illustrate the steps or concepts for readers.
